Parent-Teacher Conferences

As much as I love to knit I also love my day-job as a teacher. Kids are wonderfully weird and I go home with a smile on my face most days. I also love to meet parents. It truly does take a village to raise a child and parent teacher conference week is the perfect opportunity to make connections and learn about students.

There are a couple downsides to conferences. Most conferences are scheduled after school and into the evening so parents can attend. I think this is absolutely necessary but by the time I get home I am definitely tired and hungry/hangry.

The late nights also cut drastically into my knitting time. My poor knitting project has been sitting in my bag, dejected, since Monday. I know my project doesn’t have any feelings but I certainly do. I would love a few hours to sit down and knit my cares away. I just don’t have it this week.

After this very long week is fall break. A whole 216 hours of uninterrupted knitting time (counting weekends). I can’t wait. I have several audio books picked out and my favorite sweatpants are clean and ready to be lounged in. I am going to finish my current project and hopefully make significant progress on my next.
